Oh, that’s right, he’s a fictional character, and therefor has no feelings. The bashing of Bill is primarily based in what a ridiculous and horrible (fictional)person he is, and not some of the assorted offensive bullshit haterade that often exists in fandoms (slut-shaming, gay-bashing, misogyny, vaguely racist statements, incredibly racist statements, more slut-shaming, holding female characters to ridiculously high standards and then hating them all anyway, Eurocentrism, etc etc etc), so I fail to see any justifiable objection to the continued campaign of mockery. Indeed. Perhaps if Bill weren’t a repugnant rapist and all around evil-doer wrapped up in a package of contemptible incompetence, cowardice and pathos we could stop “bashing” him, fictional asshat that he is. As things stand, though, he fully deserves it, and also, I think he will survive the pain, since he isn’t real. Tags, yo.
